BENTLEY VENEERED OIL FILLER CAP PAPERWEIGHT

The engineer Walter Owen Bentley was in his early twenties when he chanced upon an aluminium paperweight, which set him thinking about its potential as a piston material, believing it could help an engine spin more freely and responsively. Guess what…he was right, and his cars soon began to win races and set records, eventually evolving into the Bentley Brand we know today.

This story was the inspiration behind the making of this hand crafted paperweight created from a Bentley oil filler cap. Who knows, maybe this paperweight will help inspire you to start on your very own adventure of discovery.

TOM COOKE

One person that will have a hand on almost every wooden item that leaves the factory is Tom Cooke, a coachbuilder by trade that has been working within the Woodshop for 17 years. Tom is currently working within the lacquer facility, where the wood is given protection to help it stand the test of time – this involves sealing, intricate touching-in (by hand) of any slight imperfections, and the application of lacquer by hand.
